Austin Civic Priorities Workshop

September 16th, 2-5pm, online (Zoom)

Do you want to better understand and help address Austin’s greatest civic challenges?

Join us as leaders from the City of Austin and other civic organizations share top issues and priorities for Austin at this public event hosted by the  Austin Smart City Alliance. Civic leaders will share urgent and important challenges to address to help make Austin better for all, then we will discuss how 'smart city’ approaches—collecting data and using analytics to improve operations and decisions—can help address these challenges.

This Austin Civic Priorities Workshop is online on Wednesday, September 16 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Registration is free, and attendance is open to everyone.

At this workshop, City of Austin and other civic organization leaders will share their top three priorities in concise 15 minute presentations that answer the questions:
  1. What are the City’s biggest needs?
  2. What are biggest challenges to addressing these needs?
  3. How might data and technology help address these needs?
  4. What are the biggest opportunities ahead in this domain/area?
  5. What can companies, universities, and other organizations do to help?

After all departments/speakers have presented, we will evaluate the entire set of priorities, identify the recurring/cross-cutting themes, and discuss how data and technology—and Austin’s companies, non-profits, and universities—may be able to help solve these issues. This will enable our community to work together to formulate potentially high-impact projects.

Final speakers and their timeslots will be posted by September 4th.

Attendance is free and open to all.
