Civic Solutions Funding Workshop

December 16, 12pm-1:30pm online (Zoom)

Do you want maximize the chance of success and impact for your smart cities project?

The Austin Smart City Alliance is conducting a civic solutions funding workshop on Wednesday, December 16th to help (potential) civic solutions create funding plans and business to maximize their chance of success and impact.

ASCA conducts civic priorities workshops to identify needs for solutions (most recent: September 16), civic solutions workshops to accelerate solutions (most recent: November 11), and civic solutions funding workshops (this one) to help solutions teams develop viable business models and funding plans.

This civic solutions funding workshop will present information on all of the funding sources and business models relevant to smart cities project effort: federal grants, foundation grants, city/county funding, crowdsourcing, social impact funding, revenue sharing, and standard business models. Every solution maker/provider will present a quick overview (what it is, how it helps communities, etc.) as a business model canvas, and then it’s current funding plan/business model, ideas, etc. (10 min total). Then, a group of funding experts will attach themselves to the presenting projects to work with them on ideas, with quick reports at the end of the day on progress made in developing funding plans and business models.

The presentations will be viewable by everyone, and everyone may contribute ideas for any projects to help out the solutions makers/providers. The intent is to help improve and accelerate every potential solution.

Who Should Attend? Everyone!
  • If you’re a solution provider, you may want to present to get ideas that help improve the feasibility of your project/solution, but regardless you will learn from the workshop opening, the solutions’ business model canvases, and the final reports about how other solutions are pursuing how funding
